Another Swap

I'm working on a Halloween 12 x 12 layout for a swap right now. I'm a little intimidated because I had to choose whether I was Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. I thought I was Intermediate, but after viewing others' work, I'm not so sure. I like simple layouts, so I have stressed over this one and have tried to step-it-up a little.

Will post more pictures soon

I have more pictures to post soon, but my husband is holding my computer hostage. He is actually using the monitor and keyboard to work on a client's computer, so mine is not hooked up. I will post pictures as soon as I can get to my computer (the one with the photoshop software on it).

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Take this time to count your blessings and enjoy your family. I am cooking the turkey again this year for my family of 5 and maybe a few others.

Sad Goodbyes

An 18-year-old girl committed suicide in our college dorm early last Friday. Her roommate found her and could not revive her. My 15-year old had many friends at the high school who knew her. As I talked to my daughter, I asked her what the girl accomplished. I wanted my daughter to look long and hard at what suicide accomplishes. The girl got the attention she was obviously craving, but she is not around to see it. Suicide is selfish. I wanted my daughter to know that nothing is worth taking your life over. Everything can be resolved. All I can do is hope she listened.

Hosting a Swap

I just finished hosting my first swap. It was harder and took longer to sort the layouts than I thought it would be. It was a lot of fun and I hope these ladies will allow me to do it again. It may have taken longer than expected, but I was trying to be extremely careful and get it right. The layouts will all go in the mail tomorrow morning.

Winter Layout

Here is a 8x8 layout that I did for a swap that I am hosting for some QVC fans. This was fun too. I do a lot of paper piecing. The Cricut sure makes that a little easier. I'm looking forward to collecting more cartridges. I just ordered the Christmas Cheers one and can't wait for it to come in the mail.

First Paint Can

I just finished decorating my first paint can. It's for a Christmas Paint Can Swap on Cricut.com. This was a lot of fun to do. Just wait until my secret sister discovers what's inside! I have to ship it out by December 1. What a Christmas Present.
